From Chesapeake Medical Products comes an entirely new type of low-temperature splinting material: Colours. With moderate resistance to stretch, Colours is the perfect material for everything from hand and wrist splints to body jackets.
Colours Splinting Material is manufactured with a "memory" and can be reshaped and remolded, allowing for adjustment of the splint as the healing process takes place. It is available in either a smooth finish or with a patented 1% perforation to allow for ventilation, and is completely fingerprint-resistant and stain resistant.
Splinting Material can be used for splinting any of the following: hand, wrist, neck, elbow, ankle stirrup, foot drop, knee, and burn splints, as well as body jackets or as back support inserts.
To use, simply heat the Colours Splinting Material in water at 160 degrees Fahrenheit for 1 minute. It will soften enough to be molded to whatever joint shape is needed, and any further adjustments can be made by spot heating with a heat gun.
