The most popular of Chesapeake Medical Products splinting materials, Infinity Splinting Material, represents an excellent all-around material that can be used for everything from static to dynamic splints and wrist splints to body jackets.
Infinity is popular because of its unique balance between plastic and rubber. When heated it will stretch and even drape to allow for maximum conformability to joints or limbs in either static or dynamic splints. Once cooled, however, it maintains enough rigidity to withstand the stress of even spastic patients or as a body jacket without need for further reinforcing materials.
It's easy to use Infinity. Just heat it in 160 degree Fahrenheit water for 1 minute, and you can shape any way you like for 3 to 5 minutes after that. The edges will seal themselves again as long as you cut them while they are still warm. No need for heat treatment to create a highly fingerprint and stain resistant finish.
Recommended for use on all splints, including hand, wrist, elbow, and knee.
